JAKARTA - Canada's auto safety agency said on Friday, May 27 that it was investigating the cause of a Tesla car fire in Vancouver. This fire attracted the attention of many parties because the driver had to fight desperately to get out of his burning vehicle.

After the Tesla Model Y fire on May 20, 2021, in Vancouver, Transport Canada said it had a collision and defect investigation team contracted to "find and secure the vehicle."

The agency added that it notified Tesla of the incident and is currently making arrangements for a joint inspection of the vehicle in an effort to determine the cause of the fire.

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration told Reuters on Thursday it was "aware of the incident and has contacted the manufacturer for information."

Electrek's website posted a video of the incident in which the owner said he received a fault notification in his car and then saw smoke. The driver said that to get out, he had to break the window. "I kicked the window because everything stopped. The electricity didn't work. The door didn't open. The window didn't come down," the driver said, quoted by Reuters.

Tesla itself did not respond to a request for comment on the report. However, this incident is really a concern, because the electrical damage to the Tesla car turned out to be very dangerous for the driver and passengers in the car.
