JAKARTA - After months of delay, Google is finally rolling out the individual user profile feature for Google TV over the next few weeks.

With the presence of these features, the popular smart TV will allow each family member to have their own personal profile.

These profiles will each have access to watch lists, recommendations, and Google Assistant. The update will reach all users in the next few weeks.

Once the device is updated, users can set up their profile according to these steps. From the Google TV home screen, at the top right, scroll to your profile picture or initials.

Select your name + Add account, select Add account. Sign in to the Google Account you want to add. Follow the instructions to complete the profile setup. Select the streaming service you want to use with this profile.

Launching CNET, Tuesday, May 24, just last year, Google TV also launched a kids profile, where parents can choose which apps are available and set a time limit for watching.

Earlier this month, the team started rolling out an ambient mode screensaver with personalized cards that would show things like the weather, sports scores, and podcast links.

Google TV joins rival Amazon Fire TV in embracing the use of individual profiles, as both platforms have integrated the feature into their systems.

For your information, Google TV is a new version of Google's Android TV platform and is pre-installed on all new Sony televisions, as well as on some TCL devices.

Users can also add services by purchasing a Chromecast with a Google TV streaming device and connecting it via HDMI to any TV.
