JAKARTA - As one of the most active digital citizens in the world, it is not surprising that Indonesian children are enthusiastic about exploring the digital world itself.

Kaspersky, which recently launched Kaspersky Safe Kids, reviews anonymized data, such as search queries, most popular Android apps, and categories of websites voluntarily available by Kaspersky Safe Kids users, to explore the most popular children's interests between January- March 2022.

Here are the interests and preferences of children globally according to Kaspersky data:

Application

According to statistics, the five most popular apps among children in general include YouTube (31.6 percent), the leader in terms of time spent by children over the past few years.

Then came TikTok and its recommendation algorithm of 19 percent. This is then followed by WhatsApp (18 percent). Popular games Roblox (7.5 percent), and the Chrome browser closing in the top five (7.3 percent).

Roblox's closest competitor, Brawl Stars, lost a bit of popularity and only picked up a percentage of 4.8 percent. Interestingly, YouTube Kids, an app specifically for children, was not very popular, with its share of only 2.1 percent.

Among Japanese cartoons, children have the most interest in “Naruto” and “My Hero Academia”.
