JAKARTA - Twitter reportedly canceled to bring changes to the appearance of tweet content embedded on the website, even though the tweet has been deleted by its creator.

Previously Kevin Marks, the micro-blogging site began using Javascript around the end of March to block deleted tweets embedded on third-party websites, including those that had been banned or suspended from Twitter.

This change shows embedding deleted tweets as empty boxes, but it claims to make it harder for people to save tweets.

As a result, Twitter has canceled bringing the update to its site, and the site will now return to displaying the original text of the tweet.

"After considering the feedback we've heard, we're canceling the change, for now while we explore different options," Twitter spokesperson Remi Duhé told The Verge.

"We appreciate those who share their point of view, your feedback helps us make Twitter better."

So since the change was undone, users will now again see the embedded tweet with a link showing the original text of the tweet, the date, and the name of the user who uploaded it.

Judging from Twitter's response, it looks like the company is temporarily undoing this change, while they look for alternative ways to display deleted tweets on the website.

It's unclear what kinds of different options Twitter might try, hopefully it won't block any information related to the tweet.

For your information, Twitter has been busy lately working on new features and capabilities, one of which is the long-awaited edit button. Unfortunately, the button sparked concerns over whether insulters could abuse the feature to change the content of tweets including those that were pinned after they were shared.
