JAKARTA - Earlier this month, Capcom confirmed that it will release Resident Evil 7 and remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 later this year, which will be out for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The publisher of the survival horror game said in a tweet on Twitter that there would be visual and performance improvements. They also wrote down the new details. Those of you who currently have Resident Evil 2,3 and 7 games on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be able to perform digital upgrades at no additional cost.

“As previously mentioned, saving data from the original PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game will be carried over to their respective upgraded versions. The DLC was purchased separately and the DLC included with Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition will also be transferred.

If you have a physical copy of the game on a previous generation console, you can upgrade to a digital version of the current generation at no additional cost. "Please note that your console requires a disk drive to continue using the physical edition of this game."

Meanwhile, Capcom confirmed that at this time, there are no plans for a physical release of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 for the current generation consoles. Whether those plans will change in the future remains to be seen later.

But as of now, when the three games launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S later this year, they will only be available digitally.
