JAKARTA - Chrono Trigger is a console role-playing game created by Square Co. for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

Released in Japan on March 11, 1995, the game has been around for almost 30 years. While in North America, Chrono Trigger was released on August 22 of the same year.

Earlier this week, Square Enix updated the Steam version of Chrono Trigger for the first time in four years. This update will add support for 21:9 resolution, improved control pad, as well as some user interface improvements.

The addition of ultrawide screen support is very important, because it includes a feature rarely found in retro ports, even some modern games like Elden Ring, don't come with 21:9 support.

Launching from Kotaku, when the special version of Chrono Trigger which was first released in February 2018, it fell apart.

Square Enix ended up spending the next few months fixing most of these problems.

Updated Features

Full screen now available Full screen display up to 21:9 ratio. Screen Mode added.

Improved Control

Improved directional pad control. Improved directional pad design for easier viewing. Exclamation points will now be displayed for interaction requests such as Talk. Changed the size of targets marking dungeon entrances, and more to make them easier to see. Increases the event area for easier cleaning when using touch controls.‌ Minor additional control adjustments.

Enhanced Battle

Battle Speed for Auto-Battle increased x1.5.‌Automatically proceeds with the Auto-Battle selected for the next battle. Battle Speed adjustment is possible from MENU.

Additional Features

Available save slots increased to 20 slots. Bug to Scil has been fixed.
