JAKARTA - Electric vehicle (EV) battery startup Britishvolt will develop a high-performance battery with Aston Martin. Monday, March 7, the company said the development was in line with the British luxury carmaker's intention to launch its first electric vehicles by 2025.
The joint research and development team of the car brand turned vehicle of fictional secret agent James Bond and the battery company will design and develop a more efficient battery pack and battery management system.
Aston Martin is the carmaker's second customer for Britishvolt. The startup has previously had a battery development partnership with British carmaker Lotus.
In 2026 Aston Martin plans to offer all-electric car versions of all its new models.

Last month Britishvolt launched a Series C funding round with an initial investment of £40 million from mining giant Glencore.
They have also secured British government support for a battery factory project in northern England, which unlocked £1.7 billion in private funding.
