JAKARTA - YouTube will offer money to podcasters. According to a Bloomberg report, this effort was made by the US video application so that podcasters around the world can create their own versions of videos.
Previously, YouTube's goal in developing its Podcast service was as their step in competing with the market already dominated by Spotify and Apple.
According to The Verge, people close to the situation told Bloomberg that YouTube is offering individual shows for $50,000-300,000 or around Rp700 million to Rp4.2 billion for a potential podcast network. The funds are also to fund films for multiple episodes and other video-based content.
Despite being a video platform, Alphabet Inc.'s Google-owned YouTube, it has hosted a number of popular podcasts, such as H3 Podcast, Full Send Podcast, as well as Impaulsive led by Logan Paul.
It even helped fuel the growth of the controversial Joe Rogan experience, whose exclusive rights are now being purchased by Spotify, in 2020.

In October last year, they started allowing all users in Canada to listen to audio without opening the app, a feature previously available to YouTube Premium subscribers only.
At the same time, YouTube also hired Kai Chuk to lead its podcasting efforts as executive focused on Podcasts. While Spotify already supports video podcasts, and gets popular shows to create accompanying videos that may be exclusive to its platform, that can help in building an audience that wants more than just audio.
The Verge reported that it had tried to contact Google for comment regarding this matter. However, Google has not yet responded.
