JAKARTA – McDonald's, which is the largest fast-food company in the US, is reportedly planning to dive into the metaverse. McD has applied for offering goods and beverage products in the form of a non-fungible token (NFT).

Reporting from U.Today, the Chicago-based company is preparing to operate a virtual restaurant that will also feature virtual goods. McDonald's plans to host a variety of entertainment events, including concerts, in the metaverse.

Previously, the world's richest man, Elon Musk, had pushed the fast-food giant to accept the cryptocurrency Dogecoin. Even Musk had promised to eat McDonald's Happy Meal on television shows.
