Sales Of Indonesian Motorcycles Rise In October 2023, The Most Sellable Scooter

JAKARTA - The two-wheeled vehicle industry recorded positive sales in October 2023. Motorcycle sales in Indonesia reached 516,293 units, or an increase compared to September which was only 509,946 units.

Based on data from the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI), Wednesday, November 8, October is one of the months with the most motorcycle sales, after March (633,155 units), January (615,416 units), February (575,502 units), and August (534,379 units).

Although sales in October showed a positive trend, sales figures were still below sales figures in the same period last year, which reached 537,587 units.

Meanwhile, in the first 10 months of 2023, sales of two-wheeled motorcycles reached 5,237,976 units, exceeding total sales throughout 2022 which reached 5,221,470 units.

In terms of sales composition in the domestic market, scooter motorcycles still dominate with a percentage of 89.72%. Meanwhile, sports motorcycles accounted for 5.18% and underbones reached 5.09%.

Meanwhile, in terms of exports, the number of motorcycles sent overseas in October 2023 reached 52,517 units, a decrease from the previous year's figure in the same period, which was 75,368 units.

In the last 10 months, 481,247 motorcycles have been successfully exported from Indonesia. Of these, scooter motorcycles account for the largest percentage of 52.67%, followed by sports motorbikes with 24.43%, and underbones with 22.90%.
