JAKARTA - An automotive manufacturer from Japan, Nissan, has just announced sales of its vehicles in the United States (US) during the second quarter of 2023. Nissan managed to record a positive increase in sales in several of its models.

According to an InsideEV report on Monday, July 3, Nissan's sales in the US reached 227,824 units during the second quarter. This indicates an increase of 32 percent compared to the same period last year.

As far as 2023 goes, Nissan has sold nearly 448,000 vehicles, showing a 24 percent increase compared to the previous year.

In the second quarter of 2023, Nissan managed to sell 4.215 units of battery electric vehicles (BEV), an increase of 30 percent compared to the same period the previous year.

Nissan's electric car sales also contributed to their latest electric SUV, all-new Nissan Ariya, which sold 2,335 units during that period.

However, unlike Nissan Ariya, Nissan Leaf's electric hatchback sales actually decreased for five consecutive quarters to 1,880 units.

With a good increase in sales, it is estimated that Nissan will continue to focus on increasing production and sales of its electric cars, especially Nissan Ariya, for the third quarter given the unsatisfactory sales results during that period last year.

Nissan has also recently announced the launch of the latest version of the Nissan Leaf 2024 but has not experienced significant changes compared to the 2023 model version.
