JAKARTA - German vehicle manufacturer Volkswagen announced the latest generation of powertrains that will soon be embedded in the latest ID model from the end of the year.

The rear wheel drive with the code APP550 is claimed to promise performance improvement as well as being more efficient at the same time without the need to increase the size so that the powertrain can be included as an internal center part of the existing ID model.

Reporting from ArenaEV, Wednesday, April 12, this driving force is capable of producing 285 dk or 210 kW of power, which is a variant chosen by VW for the ID model in the future.

Although it will use the latest powertrain, VW revealed that it will still use the platform from the MEB that has been developed by the company. What's more, this latest powertrain also requires a little raw material to be produced, making it more efficient.

This electric motor produces 285 dk and a maximum torque of 550 Nm, depending on the ratio of the gear on the vehicle. VW claims that equipped with a gearbox it can increase acceleration both from a stationary and at high speed.

The powertrain will be paired with an inverter that functions as a supplier of high-phase currents to emit better power and increase efficiency. This can replace the flow of dependence on other frequencies and modulation methods.

To increase efficiency, VW technicians have designed the latest thermal management systems that don't need electricity to work. It can operate on a simple oil pump that can lower temperatures by itself using gear wheels from gyrboxes. Then, the heated oil is then cooled by the car's cooling circuit system. The outside of the stator also has a water cooler, which is able to maintain temperature.

This latest powertrain system will be produced at the Kassel factory in Germany. The manufacturer has not been able to confirm which ID model will use the powertrain, it could be ID.7.
