The Reason Rahmania Astrini Rarely Makes Songs Using Indonesian

Rahmania Astrini is known as a singer and songwriter. Some of the songs she wrote included Goodnight Kiss, Space, Pizza Pepperoni, and Someday somewhere Someplace Somehow.

The singer who opened Coldplay's concert in Jakarta admitted that he did not think much about language selection, it's just that English is often used by him to express things.

"Actually, in my opinion, the language is not what I focus on, and English is one of my expressions," said Rahmania Astrini in Ceger, East Jakarta last week.

There are several Indonesian-language songs that Rahmania also wrote, but she feels some difficulties when writing, especially when choosing the right diction to be used as song lyrics.

"I still like writing Indonesian, I just don't feel good about it. Because I think Indonesian is much more difficult, a lot like the word'me', then there's'me', there's 'daku', there's something else. That's just one word," said Rahmania.

"While I think there are also a lot of English, it's just simpler and easier to understand," he continued.

However, the singer from Bandung hopes to also be able to compose many Indonesian-language songs. He hopes that there will be Indonesian songs that he creates and sings himself.

"That's why I want to learn a lot more Indonesian, I want to read a lot of books too, maybe I can issue the next Indonesian song," concluded Rahmania Astrini.
