The Cancellation Of The B-52 Concert At The White House Due To The 'Sadness And Suffering' Of The Israel-Hamas War

JAKARTA - The B-52 concert scheduled for the White House on the evening of October 25 was canceled due to the grid and suffering' of the Israel-Hamas war.

The new wave band America, known for their 1989 hit single Love Shock, is scheduled to appear at the official state dinner for Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, hosted by US President Joe Biden.

In a statement, First Lady Jill Biden said through The Guardian: "Although initially we planned the legendary B-52 to perform their iconic dance and party music, we are now in a time when so many people face sadness and pain, and we decided to make adjustments to the portion of the night's entertainment."

Reportedly, the B-52 named after the US bomber 'even attended a state dinner as a guest. The presidential military band featured instrumental music instead of the group.

Albanese arrived at the White House on October 24 ahead of yesterday's official state visit, when he reportedly discussed topics such as Ukraine, China, and the ongoing Israeli-Hamas war.

"Maintaining our partnerships and relationships with our allies is very important, especially in these turmoil times," Jill Biden continued. "Food provides comfort, advice, and healing, and we hope this dinner will also provide a little benefit from that."

Since Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7, thousands have died on both sides of the conflict. A recent report by Al Jazeera stated that about 7,000 Palestinians were killed by Israeli airstrikes in Gaza and about 2,900 of them were reported as children.

The Wall Street Journal also confirmed that more than 1,400 Israelis were killed in the Hamas attack.
