Irama Brings The Panturas To Endah N' Rhesa To Bring Indonesia's Popular Music Tribute 1960s

JAKARTA - The Irama Berdendang music festival became the highlight of the Irama Series: One Decade of Irama Nusantara, an archival exhibition for Indonesia's popular music industry with the theme From Ngak Ngik Ngok to Dheg Dheg Plas.

Irama Berdendang will take place at the National Awakening Museum, Central Jakarta on October 14 and 15.

Meanwhile, dozens of musicians were presented to fill the Irama Berdendang. They will appear in tribute format to Indonesian pop musicians in the 1960s.

"The tribute format is an option to introduce Indonesian music from the past through the latest young musicians," said Gerry Apriryan as Program Manager of Irama Nusantara in his statement, Tuesday, October 10.

"Interestingly, there is also a DJ format or a selector that we made specifically for one lounge to capture the phenomenon that has occurred recently, namely the proliferation of DJs bringing music from the past," he continued.

In the Irama Berdendang event later, Bilal Indrajaya will perform songs from the iconic album Badai Pasti Berlalu. Then, NonaRIA will bring Ismail Marzuki's work, and The Panturas will bring Eka Sapta's works with an Indorock style of '60s.

In addition, Diskoria will play the classic Indonesian disco, Endah N' Rhesa will bring the Indonesian folk, and Louise and Gallaby will raise memories of the figure of Roekiah.

Not only that, a number of other performers such as Dipha Barus, Mondo Gascaro, Batavia Collective collaborated with Fariz RM, White Shoes & The Couples Company, Puranan Nusantara, Dua Sejoli, Bangkutaman, JIWA JIWA, Dangerdope, Aryo Adhianto & The Ruko Riots, Udasjam, Midnight Runners, and Swara are also excited to appear.

In addition to the music festival, discussions with the title Bisik-Bisik Musik will also be held. There will be various issues related to the music industry and various problems that follow it.

This program will raise the theme of music chats that often appear in various circles of Indonesian music lovers. Discussions will involve resource persons who have integrity and competence in their fields.

"Every day we (Irama Nusantara) interact with groups who just hang out, wonder about collections, musicians who are curious about wanting to cover, or use some old songs, to international academics who are looking for clues for the subject of their research. Irama Nusantara considers that if the discussion of Music Whispers is held and then known to the public, then there is an understanding of archival urgency because it is always actual with the conditions and phenomena that occur today," said Gerry Apriryan.
