JAKARTA - Oasis topped the new BBC charts in the album rankings most played in the 90s.

The Official Most Streamed Albums on the 90s chart, which was shared to celebrate National Album Day next week, October 14, featured the top 40 most streamed albums in the decade, streaming in the UK, as compiled by the Official Charts Company.

The albums will be broadcast on BBC Radio 2 between 1-3 p.m. and October 14th; the program is available to listen to on BBC Sounds.

Oasis has got the top two slots in the chart with (What's The Story) Morning Glory in number one and Definitely Maybe in number two. As for Be Here Now, the band's third studio album, ranks 18th on the list. Uniquely, Britpop's rival Oasis in the 90s, Blur, was not in the top twenty on the list.

Other artists who are included in the list include Dr. Dre, Nirvana, Radiohead, Spice Girls, and Metallica.

Talking about getting the top position, said Noel Gallagher from Oasis.

I'm very happy, but I wouldn't say that I'm so surprised that (What's The Story) Morning Glory has been selected as the most-played album in the 90s I still believe in the tastes of the people in this country. I mean, if you have Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger on your album, you'll be fine..." he said.

"For certain people, this song will bring back the memories of their youth in the 90s and the amazing decade we've all gone through, and for young people now, these songs only discuss universal truth in life, and they will always be eternal... you know, about love, loss, heartbreak, friendship, and weather," he continued.

"All the universal things we live in everyday life are not too realized. So thank you to everyone."
