Bewitched Laufey's Album Breaks Record And Makes History

JAKARTA - Laufey's new album, Bewitched broke many records since its release last month.

The album broke records on Spotify, recording the first day of the biggest jazz album on the streaming service in history.

The song also made its debut at Number 23 in all Billboard 200 genres, marking Laufey's first appearance on the charts, and still comfortably sitting at the top 100 almost a month after its release.

The album's lead single, From The Start, has also proven to be a huge success, recording 1 million streams in less than 24 hours after its release and obtaining 1.75 million streams every day since.

Thus, this song is the most played jazz song in the world today.

Speaking to NME The Cover earlier this year, Laufey explained why he was interested in exploring ideas about love, relationships, and romanticizing someone's life on the album.

"I think love makes everyone so ridiculous," Laufey said. "I remember the first time I was dating, we drank a glass of wine and kissed and then I left in the rain, and I remember thinking, 'Oh my God, it's really like in a movie!'"

In a five-star review for Bewitched, NME wrote: "Reporting space with his views on classical legendary music years ago mixed with something more modern, on stage is what Laufey is destined to be."
