Rachmi Aziah, Ismail Marzuki's son who is the heir to copyright holders of works that Ismail Marzuki has created, is disappointed with the existence of the song Hello Kuala Lumpur. Disappointment arose against the song uploaded on the YouTube channel of the Song Kanak TV. "Yes (disappointed), that's for sure. Due to disappointment without permission, without permission to change poetry and others," said Rachmi Aziah in Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta on Wednesday, September 27. Moreover, Halo, Halo Bandung has become a National song that has been played in many events. "Yes, I am disappointed. You all already know, everyone knows that you are a National Hero," said Rachmi. Rachmi Aziah also said that she only found out about Hello Kuala Lumpur's song after it was widely discussed on social media. She didn't know her father's song was plagiarized, even though Hello Kuala Lumpur had been on YouTube five years ago. "From the people (he knew), I also didn't know. But from my friends, I was given news, this is a raid," he said. Furthermore, Rachmi also thanked netizens. He saw many of them provide support. For now and in the future, Rachmi has submitted the plagiarism issue to his legal team from Assegaf Hamzah & Partners (AHP). Rachmi hopes that the song Hello Kuala Lumpur will soon be taken down, and the perpetrators can be found. "Yes, it's running (the legal process). If they want to use a permit first," concluded Rachmi Aziah.

For information, Ismail Marzuki passed away on May 25, 1958. The creator of the song Halo, Halo Bandung, died at the age of 44. In accordance with Article 58 paragraph 1 of Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright, copyright protection over creation applies for life to the creator and continues for 70 years after the creator dies, starting January 1, the following year. In the case of Ismail Marzuki's creation, Rachmi Aziah has the right to be the heir to copyright until 2028.
