JAKARTA - Music activists, especially music promoters and event organizers, can breathe a sigh of relief. The government decided to simplify licensing for events, including music concerts.

That way, musicians and foreign bands such as Coldplay to Blackpink can make it easier to appear in the country.

The ease of licensing is carried out to move the creative economy sector to be even better in the future.

President Jokowi in a limited meeting some time ago decided to strengthen the electronic-based government system (SPBE). There are 9 priorities that are being improved by the government, one of which is licensing events that are being piloted today," said Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB), Abdullah Azwar Anas in an official statement, Tuesday, September 12.

"By cutting the business process, ease of licensing and deregulation, we in the government have the National Police Chief, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Minister of Investment, the Minister of SOEs coordinated by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, hopes that more events will be present, including Indonesian and world bands," he continued.

Meanwhile, one of the steps that will be implemented is digitization. In digitizing event licensing services that will be tested, all inter-institutional systems become integrated, including systems in OSS and Polri.

With this digitization, event organizers do not have to fill out permits separately in many agencies like before. Now they are enough to only be in one system.

"According to President Jokowi's directives, this is not a new application, but there is interoperability. The National Police, Transitional Teams from SOEs such as Telkom and Peruri, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Ministry of Investment and other ministries or institutions outside can direct this," said Anas.

Meanwhile, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said that what was done could encourage the progress of Indonesia's creative economy and create jobs.

"We hope this will be an impetus because 3,000 events in Indonesia this year will contribute Rp162 trillion and create many jobs," said Sandiaga Uno.
