JAKARTA - The soundtrack to the film Barbie made history on the UK charts with the highest number of songs ever in the Top Five.

The soundtrack was released alongside Greta Gerwig's hit film last week, July 21, and has since been a top hit on the charts.

The Mark Ronson-produced album features artists such as Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice, Charli XCX, Sam Smith, Billie Eilish, Haim, PinkPantheress, Karol G and FIFTY FIFTY.

After its first week on the charts, the album is now the first to have three songs all feature in the Top Five, as well as breaking the record for the most songs (six) in the Top 40.

NME reported on Monday, the three songs are What Was I Made from Billie Eillish in third place, Dance The Night from Dua Lipa (#4), and Barbie World from Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice and Aqua (#5).

Speaking to the BBC, Barbie's music supervisor George Drakoulias said: "Nobody says no. Everyone is very excited. It's a perfect symbiotic relationship of music driving movies and movies driving music."

"Once you see the film and how well the music works, as soon as they leave the theater, people go out and get the album," he continued.
