JAKARTA - Metallica's old song, Fuel, was asked for a soundtrack for NASA's new video promoting the Artemis lunar mission belonging to the space agency.

Metallica shared the news through videos uploaded on social media.

"What do we have in common with the #Artemist @NASA mission to the Moon? 'Fuel' (fuel) & fire!" Metallica wrote in the accompanying message

"Further training on how NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) rocket & the Orion spacecraft will send 4 astronauts on a cross-month flight around the Moon for NASA's Artemis II mission at http://nasa.gov/sls," the message continued.

Artemis II is scheduled to launch in November 2024 and is the second of two planned test flights before the US returns to the lunar surface.

Four selected astronauts will fly around the Moon with Orion Spacecraft and will become the first humans to explore the farthest from Earth's low orbit since NASA's Apollo 17 mission in 1972.

Artemis II is the first manned mission to be part of NASA's plans to build a long-term presence on the Moon for science and exploration.

The 10-day flight will test NASA's basic human space exploration capabilities, the Space Launch System rocket and the Orion spacecraft, for the first time with astronauts.

The flight, which will be built on the unmanned Artemis I mission completed in December, will set the stage for the first woman and first person of color on the Moon through the Artemis program.

It also paved the way for the future for long-term human exploration missions. to the Moon, and finally Mars. This is a lunar exploration approach to Mars from the agency.

Through the Artemis mission, NASA will use innovative technology to explore more lunar surfaces than ever before.

Give me that which I desire. This #InternationalDayofRock, @Metallica is adding "Fuel" to the fire of our #Artemis missions to the Moon. https://t.co/xXmEIu01KI pic.twitter.com/daCNlaqhRm

NASA will collaborate with commercial and international partners and build its first long-term presence on the Moon. Then, NASA will use what it learns at and around the Moon to make the next giant leap: sending the first astronauts to Mars.
