Concerts With Foreign Guest Stars Such As Hammersonic Give Great Influence To Indonesian Tourism

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said the music concert that brought in musicians from abroad had a big influence on tourism in Indonesia.

"Yes, it is very big (influence) and we will attend the Hammersonic concert, there are also many bands from abroad who come to Indonesia because the market is developing," Sandiaga said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday.

According to Sandiaga, the market for music concerts in Indonesia is developing and the middle class continues to grow. This makes Indonesia an attractive place for large concerts and helps the movement of foreign tourists (tourists) and domestic tourists (wisnus).

"As a result of this year, we hope that one momentum will be created for 2024 (as many as) 4.4 million jobs. And for these events, from the three thousand events that we will have initiated, the economic impact is around Rp. 170 trillion, including large ones such as F1 Powerboat, WSBK, and music events that invite foreign musicians," said Sandiaga.

The Hammersonic Festival will certainly be held on March 18-19 at Carnaval Ancol Jakarta after being postponed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The largest rock music festival in Southeast Asia should be held in 2020, then postponed and postponed again in 2021 and 2022.

The Hammersonic Festival will bring in famous metal and rock bands from abroad such as Slipknot, Trivium, Watain, Saosin, Story of the Year, Black Flag, Vio-lence, Amon Amarth, to Tiny Moving Parts. There will be a total of 53 performers, including metal and rock bands from within the country.

In addition to concerts, large international events that were recently held in Indonesia were the Formula 1 Motorboat World Championship (F1 Powerboat) on February 24-26 at Lake Toba, North Sumatra, and the Superbike World Championship (WSBK) at Mandalika Lombok which began on March 3.
