Taylor Hawkins' Son, Shane, Achieves The Executing Award For His Performance Bringing Foo Fighters Song

JAKARTA - Taylor Hawkins's 16-year-old son, Shane, won a prestigious drum award for his performance performing the song Foo Fighters, My Hero.

Shane's sitting behind the drum kit is considered one of the prominent moments of the concert held for his father at Wembley Stadium last September.

In recognition for his performance, the Drumeo Awards awarded him a Drum Performance of the Year.

Explaining why Shane won the prestigious award, Drumeo wrote: 'This award winner features a legendary performance that must be watched during 2022, either with the band complete at an event or in a solo studio video.

16-year-old Shane Hawkins did this, pouring her heart and soul into a My Hero live show at a tribute concert dedicated to her late father and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.

(The appearance) touched millions of people and showed how much love, energy and enthusiasm could come out of the drum device.

Hawkins was found dead in a hotel room in Colombia while on tour with Foo Fighters in March 2022. He is 50 years old.

The band confirmed in early 2023 that they would continue without Hawkins. "Without Taylor, we would never be a band like we used to be and without Taylor, we knew that we would be a different band in the future," Foo Fighters said.
