Music Concert Connoisseurs In Indonesia This Year Will Be More Selective

JAKARTA - Founder of Plainsong Live Ferry Dermawan predicts that music concert lovers in Indonesia this year will be more selective in choosing the music event or festival they will attend.

"The selective may be based on several considerations, from the line-up, the experience he got from the festival which was attended previously, such as venues, line-ups," Ferry said as quoted by Antara, Friday.

Ferry said the budget was also their consideration for attending a music festival.

On the same occasion, the President Director of Nada Promotama Emil Mahyudin did not deny that young people, especially the Indonesian millennial generation, are currently happy to watch concerts or music festivals and this is not limited to concerts in Jakarta.

"Actually, the events in these areas are not inferior to many events in Jakarta and its surroundings or Bandung. Actually, their spending power is also not inferior to Jakarta," he said.

However, unlike concerts in Jakarta, concerts in the regions generally require more costs, one of which is because they have to provide plane tickets for invited artists.

For that, continued Emil, promoters need good system support, one of which is sponsorship. He said his company had received the support of several sponsors so that the event that should have been held could run smoothly and according to the target.

On the other hand, major music festivals that are held in Jakarta or Bandung are also popular with connoisseurs from abroad. Emil noted that those who like to watch music concerts in Indonesia include those from Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.
