Without Roy Jeconiah, John Paul Ivan Creates Boomerang Reunion Project Reload

JAKARTA - John Paul Ivan announced a reunion project called Boomerang Reload involving three old personnel including John Paul Ivan, Andi Babas and Farid Martin. The figure of the founder and former Boomerang guitarist from the 1994-2004 era also announced that the project did not involve vocalist Roy Jeconiah.

Without Roy Jeconiah who is in solo career and Hubert Henry who passed away in April 2021, the Boomerang Download formation only supported three personnel, namely John Paul Ivan as guitarist and vocalist, Andi Babas as the basis and vocalist and permanent drummer at Farid.

"So we agreed that there will be three of them in the future and by using the name Boomerang Reload which means'recharged'," wrote a statement uploaded by John Paul Ivan on Thursday, November 17.

Through the letter, three personnel also asked for the blessing of the family of the late Hubert Henry, the previous Boomerang management and fans to support the Boomerang Download music project.

Henry, Ivan and Roy founded Boomerang in 1994 which was followed by Farid's inclusion in 1995. Henry is an important figure in Boomerang because he has contributed a lot in creating songs.

When Roy and Ivan left the hard rock band in 2005 and 2010, Henry and Farid became the backbone of Boomerang along with several new personnel.

Since 1994, Boomerang has produced 12 studio albums, two compilation albums and one collaboration album. Boomerang's golden age was in the late 1990s and early 2000s thanks to the album Hits Maker (1997), Triangle (1998), Hard 'n Heavy (1999) and its peak in Xtravaganza (2000) which spawned legendary hits Pelangi, Tragedy, and Bungaku.

Unfortunately, the band's career journey, which was raised by Log Zhelebour management, was not smooth. John Paul Ivan chose to leave in 2005 which was followed by Roy Jeconiah in 2010 to be solo in his career and run several collaboration projects.
