JAKARTA - Kia has launched its newest compact SUV called Syros for the Indian market recently. It was stated that the model was positioned between Sonet and Seltos with an option offer for gasoline and diesel engines.

Not only present in the choice of internal combustion engine (ICE), this automotive manufacturer from South Korea will also present it in EV form.

Launching from Gaadiwaadi, Tuesday, December 24, the model with zero-emission drive is expected to be sold in 2026 in India.

Kia Syros was built on the K1 platform, meaning it opens up the possibility for this SUV to have flexibility and to be present in pure gasoline and electricity versions. This architecture is also used in the Casper model which is also present in the EV version with the name Inster.

The exterior design also adopted a large EV SUV EV9, so it has the potential for no massive reshuffle to be realized in an electric version.

Elements such as headlights and back and flat door handles are likely to be maintained like ICE versions. However, the Syros EV has the potential to get revised bumpers, new rims, and some branding specifically for electric models.

Moving to the cabin, Syros EV still maintains the same dashboard layout even if there is a change in the seat to differentiate it from the ICE machine version.

Speaking of features, the car is likely to adopt ADAS Level 2, a panoramic sunset, an electric driver seat, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, to a front and rear seat.

Although details of the specifications have not been disclosed, it is estimated that the Syros EV will have a battery measuring 42 kWh and 49 kWh with a claim a distance of up to 400 km in one full charge.
