Tesla Cybertruck, Will You Get Criticism Like Hummer EV?

JAKARTA - In a document issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the US, it was revealed that the Tesla Cybertruck 2024 version would not offer the one-moto variant as previously promised at a price below 40,000 US dollars or around Rp634 million.

Documents from NHTSA only reveal that the Tesla Cybertruck, which was started to be sent to customers this November, will come with two motorbikes and three motorbikes. This of course makes prospective consumers who have been waiting for this luxury truck for a long time in hopes of getting a more affordable version.

In addition, quoted from Caranddriver, October 24, the document also reveals that Tesla Cybertruck will have a gross vehicle weight of between 3.6 tons to 4.5 tons depending on the specifications. Obviously, this weight is in the same range as the Hummer EV of 4.3 tons and the GMC Hummer EV pickup of 4.7 tons.

It is known, many Hummer EVs criticize the severity and inefficient extra size after its launch. Car weight research shows this can also lead to increased emissions from the wear of tires and brakes as well as greater risks for others in road accidents.

In addition, vehicle safety regulations in America are designed under the assumption that very heavy vehicles such as Hummer EVs are commercial trucks, not vehicles that ordinary people usually drive for daily needs and have fun. As a result, not all roads in the US can be passed by this heavy vehicle.

Well, it's interesting to wait when the Tesla Cybertruck starts passing through the streets, whether it will experience problems similar to the Hummer EV. The existence of a heavy electric truck like this does raise questions about its efficiency and practicality in daily use, especially in dense urban environments.

Criticism of the weight and dimension may also arise for Cybertruck, while questions about road infrastructure readiness will also be of serious concern.
