JAKARTA - In order to strengthen its electrification line, Peugeot officially launched the EV version of the 3008 model, namely the e-3008, with several cutting-edge technologies in it

The Peugeot e-3008 is an SUV intended for consumers in urban areas with various attractive features. In order to provide choices to its customers, the French manufacturer provides two trims, namely Allure and GT.

After previously being revealed with colored camouflage stickers, the Peugeot e-3008 was disrobed and revealed its original modern and futuristic face.

Peugeot CEO, Linda Jackson, said that the launch of the e-3008 was a step taken by Peugeot to transform into the realm of 100 percent electrification by offering a new design, driving pleasure and efficiency.

"With its exterior design, spectacular Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit, driving pleasure, and unprecedented electric performance, the e-3008 model ushers Peugeot into a new era as a French brand offering the widest range of mainstream electric vehicles on the market," said Jackson in a company statement, Tuesday, September 12.

The Peugeot e-3008 has medium dimensions with a length of 4,540 mm, a width of 1,890 mm, and a height of 1,640 mm. With its fairly compact size, this SUV will represent Peugeot to compete in the C segment with 100 percent electric-powered SUVs.

Just like existing Peugeot models, the e-3008 is presented with a three-claw light design on the front as a characteristic of the manufacturer. The grill is displayed more radically than other models.

Moving to the inside, the Panoramic i-Cockpit infotainment system is also applied to this model. The interior also features a 21-inch curved panoramic screen that stretches from behind the steering wheel to the center of the dashboard.

This car looks more luxurious with a new digital instrument cluster, ambient LED lighting in eight different colors and a redesigned steering wheel. There are several cabin interior functions that are more practical to replace conventional buttons.

The presence of the Peugeot e-3008 also marks the return of the i-Toggle touchpad system and the gear selector has moved to the dashboard next to the car's start button. In the e-3008, users can select various driving modes consisting of Normal, Eco, Sport, and 4WD.

The Peugeot e-3008 is also the first model from the brand to use Stellantis' latest platform, namely STLA Medium, promising major changes in terms of performance and is more functional compared to the old PSA Group platform.

Apart from that, there are three powertrain options on offer, namely a two-wheel drive variant with power options of up to 210 hp and 227 hp and a four-wheel drive dual electric motor with power up to 321 hp.

Peugeot offers two battery options with different mileage, namely 73 kWh which can travel up to 525 km, and 98 kWh with 700 km on a single charge.

Just like other electric cars, the Peugeot e-3008 can be compatible with AC and DC charging systems. For AC, this car can be charged with a charging power of 11 kW and a DC fast charger with a power of up to 160 kW.

The Peugeot e-3008 will go on sale in early 2024 as one of the EV model lines which streamlines the French manufacturer's strategic planning in terms of providing environmentally friendly vehicles.

In this way, Peugeot will strengthen its line of electrified models after previously, the French manufacturer introduced seven lines of EV models which will be launched until 2030 using the Inception concept.

Three of the models can be confirmed to be the e-3008, which is positioned between the e-2008 and e-5008. Each model has more handsome proportions than its predecessor and will not be much different from the concept model. The Peugeot e-5008 will be revealed in early 2024.
