Honda Civic Type R 2023 Sets Latest Record At Legendary Circuit

JAKARTA - Honda's newest high-performance car, the All-New Honda Civic Type R 2023 recently set a record as a front-wheel drive car that recorded the fastest time at the legendary circuit, Nurburgring Nordschleife in Germany.

Honda Civic Type R 2023 officially recorded a fastest time of 7 minutes 44.881 seconds with an increase in performance on the more powerful Civic Type R than the previous generation.

This car was able to record the fastest time thanks to a reliable Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Connect tire when the car was speeding up and stabilizing the car's balance.

Hideki Kakinuma, as the Development Leader of Civic Type R, revealed that his party is trying to become the best front-wheel drive car and is able to exceed the achievements of the previous generation of Civic.

"Under the concept of 'Ultimate SPORT 2.0' we developed the All-New Civic Type R with passion for 'exceeding our past achievements' and working on the best FWD (Front-Wheel Drive) sports car by perfecting the essential values and unique emotional attractions for our Type R model," explained Kabinama in an official statement from the company, April 20.

Kaknuma also added that since the introduction of the latest Civic Type R in September 2022, Honda has received many positive responses from various parties regarding the car. However, Honda's mission with the All-New Civic Type R has been fulfilled by trying out this car at the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit, where previously Honda also sent past-generation Civic Type R to set the fastest lap record.

"Six years after the record laps were set by the previous generation's Civic Type R (FK8), we reached this new dimension as a result of all the passions we put forward and all the progress we put forward for the Type R. Finally, our desire to share this story with all Type R fans around the world came true," added Kaknuma.

Civic Type R 2023 is equipped with a 2.0 liter VTEC Turbo engine which can blow 314 dk of power and 420 Nm of torque. Because it offers high performance, the price set is quite high, namely Rp1.3 billion of OTR Jakarta.
