Buy Used Avanza Veloz In Showroom, A 60 Year Old Man In Subang Got Fake Vehicle Certificate

SUBANG - The owner of a used car showroom, DP (65) was reported to the Bandung Police. DP was reported on suspicion of fraud against Ferry Efda Martadinata (50), a resident of Cigadung Village, Subang Regency, West Java.

Ferry Efda's attorney, M Waryana Suhendi, explained that the incident began when the victim (his client) bought a used car at a dealer on Rancabolang Street, Bandung City.

Efda bought a used car Avanza Veloz for IDR 166 million on July 29, 2022. Then Efda got a BPKB and STNK (vehicle certificate). At that time, his client believed it, because he bought a used car in a showroom which he considered honest.

"It turned out that the BPKB and the car's STNK were fake. It was discovered when they wanted to pay the annual tax to the Subang Samsat," said M Waryana Suhendi, to reporters at the Bandung Police Headquarters, West Java, Wednesday, September 28.

The belief that the car documents were fake was strengthened by one of the Subang Samsat officers. Finally, the car was secured at the Subang Samsat.

"Our client then contacted the showroom owner if the BPKB and STNK were fake, so the car was secured by the Subang Samsat along with evidence from the Subang Samsat officer. Our client asked for the money for the car purchase to be returned," he said.

However, continued Waryana Suhendi, the showroom did not have good intentions, so his client reported it to the police.

"Until now there is no accountability from the showroom, so our clients feel cheated by IDR 166 million," he said.

"We hope that the police will respond quickly, because it is very detrimental and it is suspected that there is a fraud committed by the DP, because until now there has been no good faith to take responsibility," he said.
