Austin Butler Targeted To Play Iconic Character In American Psycho Film

JAKARTA - Austin Butler is reportedly playing the iconic character Patrick Bateman in the latest film by Luca Guadagnino, American Psycho. This film was played by Christian Bale in the film American Psycho which was released in 2000.

Now, that role Butler will play but this film is not a remake of the 2000 version of the film but a new interpretation of the novel by Easton Ellis.

The 2000 version of American Psycho features Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman, a Wall Street professional during the day and a serial killer at night. Batera is told to kill his office colleague who is a mystery case solved by a detective.

Director Luca Guadagnino will present a new side of Balaman for Butler even though his own film is being debated among moviegoers.

Citing Variety, actor Jacob Elordi was also originally taken into account to play this character but Austin Butler got his role.

Previously, these two actors played Elvis Presley in two different films, Butler played in Elvis, while Elordi played in Priscilla. Jacob Elordi also briefly dated the Kaia Gerber model until Gerber is now dating Butler.

This film is Luca Guadagnino's second remake after working on the new version of the 2018 Supiria, adapted from the 1977 film Dario Argento. He also comes with the latest films, Challengers and Queer, which aired this year and received positive responses.

Austin Butler shines even more after playing Elvis in 2022. He also starred in Dune: Part Two and prepared the film Caught Stealing with Zoe Kravitz.
