Hamka & Siti Raham Film Presents Hamka Relations And President Soekarno

JAKARTA - Not only showing off Siti Raham's love and support for Buya Hamka, the film Hamka & Siti Raham (Vol 2) also reveals another side of the friendship between Buya Hamka and President Soekarno.

These two influential figures in seizing Indonesia's independence have actually been friends since they were young. However, differences in political views made their friendship disturbed.

In fact, Soekarno even isolated Hamka to Bogor, to reduce his resistance. "In politics, sometimes friends can become opponents, and opponents can become friends," one of the dialogues that Hamka delivered in Hamka & Siti Raham (Vol. 2).

In the film which will air on December 21, 2024, it also tells how Hamka remains sincere in making friends with Soekarno. In fact, when Bung Karno died, Hamka wanted to be the priest of Bung Karno's funeral prayer.

"In the political year as it is today, hopefully this film will not be polytized. Because I remember how it was shot in 2019, and it should have been released in 2020, but because the pandemic was finally postponed. Now this film will also air ahead of the 2024 election. Hopefully, politicians can imitate Hamka's attitude that does not hurt humanity for politics," said Hamka & Siti Raham Vol 2 film director Fajar Bustomi.

So tough is the political dispute experienced by the two figures, but it does not hinder the sense of humanity and friendship. Humanity overcomes politics. The exemplary of these two figures, Bung Karno and Hamka, should be imitated by the politicians of this country.
