SKE48 Surprised To See 3 Indonesian Habits, Different From Japan

JAKARTA - Japanese idol group SKE48 appeared to collaborate with JKT48 for the first time at the Jak-Japan Matsuri 2023 festival at the Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO) Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Sunday, November 19. This event was held to commemorate 65 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Japan.

Five SKE48 members who came to Indonesia, namely Airi Nakano, Ayaka Ota, Takahata Yuhki, Inoue Ruka, and Hara Yune shared their interesting stories during their first visit to Indonesia, one of which was when riding a two-wheeled motorcycle on the highway for three people at once.

"Indonesia's uniqueness, if it rides a motorbike, there are two people or more. So, this is something quite unique," said Ruka.

He also feels that the weather in Indonesia is hotter than in Japan, even though it has entered the rainy season. However, the hot weather in Indonesia is still felt today, especially for those who have come here for the first time.

"In Indonesia it's really hot, the air temperature can be more than 30 degrees Celsius. In Japan it's winter. So, it's very different. In addition, Indonesians have a very fresh face, it's also different from Japan," said Ruka.

Another interesting thing about Indonesia that SKE48 members feel is the number of stray cats. In fact, these stray cats do not seem afraid of humans and make SKE48 members feel happy.

There are also many stray cats in Indonesia, on the road or near the hotel. (The cat here) is also used to people's presence, it's also different. Seeing a stray cat dare to approach humans, it calms the heart," said Ayaka.

Ruka added, One of the other differences when we went to (the name of the coffee cafe) to order the smallest drink, but it was very different in size from Japan. In Japan, the size of the glass is smaller. So, the size of the smallest glass in Indonesia still feels big for us," he said.

When they went to minimarkets in Indonesia, SKE48 members were quite amazed by the many types of snacks and cakes offered. They also agreed that various types of snacks in Indonesia have unique colors and flavors, leaving an interesting experience for them.
