JAKARTA - After premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and special screenings in Yogyakarta and Bandung, the film Budi Pekerti made by director Wregas Bhanuteja will finally be shown in Indonesian cinemas starting November 2, 2023.

This film screenplay was written by Wregas Bhanuteja, produced by Adi Ekatama, Willawati, and Iman Usman, and produced by Rekata Studio and Kaninga Pictures with the support of KG Media, Hwallywood Academy of Media & Arts Singapore, Momo Films, and Still Learning.

The film Budi Pekerti had previously been screened at overseas festivals, such as the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), SXSW Sydney 2023 Screen Festival, and became the opening film at the Jakarta Film Week 2023.

In addition, Budi Pekerti received 17 nominations for the 2023 Indonesian Film Festival, and will air as official selection at the Taipei Golden Horse International Film Festival 2023.

'Budi Pekerti received a positive response and was very good after the screening at a foreign festival. Even though the story of Mrs. Prani and her family is set in Indonesia, this film raises universal stories that occur in various parts of the world," said Wregas Bhanuteja from a media broadcast received by VOI, Monday, October 30.

"In the end, I am both very touched and proud because the much-awaited Budi Pekerti film will premiere in Jakarta and simultaneously in Indonesian cinemas on November 2, 2023," continued Wregas.
