JAKARTA - Miss Universe Indonesia (MUID) tried to clarify various rumors circulating over the implementation of MUID 2023 on August 3. As is well known, rumors emerged that MUID was paid to determine the winner this year.

"We are very concerned about the accusations that recently circulated that the Miss Universe Indonesia Organization received some money from the winner of the Miss Universe Indonesia contest. We want to state firmly that this claim is baseless and false," MUID wrote in a clarification uploaded to its official Instagram account, seen Tuesday, August 8.

MUID stated that it upholds freedom of expression for all people. However, on the other hand they also stated that they would take every accusation seriously.
We respect freedom of speech and right to opinion. However, spreading baseless accusations and damaging our organization is not only irresponsible but also has the potential to defame. We urge those who spread or support this baseless claim to be stopped immediately," he said.
"Know that we take every attack against our integrity seriously, and if these false accusations continue to circulate or damage our reputation, we will not hesitate to take legal action and be firm against the party responsible," he added.
However, MUID has not at all responded to allegations of alleged sexual harassment against finalists, as has been reported to the police.
