Elmand's Struggle To Relive Emon's Character In The Boy's Note Film

JAKARTA - Emon's character for the film Note Si Boy has become an iconic character and is remembered by film fans. Celebrity as well as Tiktoker, Elmand, tells of challenges during the latest version of the Emon deepening process.

Elmand admitted that he had to train extra because he only got a role two weeks before filming started. "The deepening of Emon's role was actually a bit challenging because it was two weeks before filming while the other cast (players) had been two months," Elmand said when met at a press conference in the HR area. Rasuna Said, South Jakarta on Saturday, August 5. In addition to deepening the script and acting training as well as consulting with acting coach and director Hanung Bramantyo, Elmand said that he also still had to memorize dialogue while he was at home to catch up with other actors.

"I also practice myself after reading until home, I memorize the line because all the children have memorized it. So I double the work of being an Emon," Elmand was quoted as saying from ANTARA. Emon is an iconic character in the film Catatan Si Boy which is known as the "ngondek" or kemayu style. Emon's centil behavior, which in the original film was played by the late Didi Petet, became an entertainment for the audience of the film that aired in 1987. Therefore, in order to be able to play Emon's character well as entertaining, Elmand studied the character by watching the original film Catatan Si Boy and consulted the director and acting training.

"I also watched (the original film Note Si Boy) when I found out I got Emon, there I consulted Mas Hanung and his acting coach how good it was (to bring Emon's character)," said Elmand. Bringing a new characteristic to Emon's character, Elmand slipped the words of Debby Sahertian's distinctive slang language in the dialogue of Emon's character. "There is something I made like a slang language in the style of Debby Sahertian, I entered a little," said Elmand. Elmand became one of the cast in the latest version of the film Catatan Si Boy directed by Hanung Bramantyo which will premiere in Tanah Air theaters on August 17.
