Indonesia Teen Fashion Week Again Held: A Forum For Existence Of Designers And Young Models

JAKARTA - Indonesia Teen Fashion Week 2023 will be held again on Saturday, July 8. This year is the 3rd time it has been held for ITFW.

The DD Foundation as the organizer was still in its original intention to provide a solution for young Indonesian designers to present their works. In realizing this intention, ITFW is even getting more serious in the selection.

"Kriterianya kita benar-benar mencari designer yang bisa berkembang untuk selanjutnya. Kita buka secara online, kita seleksi, dan pilih yang memiliki proyek ke depannya," kata Derry Dahlan, Ketua ITFW 2023, dalam jumpa pers di Mangga Dua, Jakarta Pusat, Sabtu, 8 Juli.

The interest of young designers to join is even higher when compared to the previous year. This event is also expected to produce young Indonesian designers who are able to compete in the international arena and become great designer embryos.

Derry Dahlan said that ITWF itself really wanted to facilitate young designers. The reason is, he sees that many of them who have talents are buried because of the cost of participating in displaying their work in fashion events.

"Many talented and creative young designers end up burying their talents and dreams of becoming famous designers because they are blocked by cost problems. Because making fashion shows is not cheap," said Derry.

"We are trying to facilitate young designers. This large cost is better used by them to improve the quality of their collections," he continued.

In addition, a model talent search event was also held, the Indonesia Girls 2023. The organizers mentioned 500 contestants from 15 provinces participating in auditions. In the end, 55 people were selected, consisting of 28 finalists from the 9-year-old Girls Junior model and 27 Indonesian finalists Girls 14-18 years old.

The purpose of holding the Indonesia Girls 2023 as a forum for talented young models in Indonesia to gain further knowledge and make them ready to enter the world of modeling and entertainment.
