The Weeknd Self-Defense When Sex Scenes In The Idol Series Are Called Happy

JAKARTA - Episode 2 of The Idol received scathing criticism from the audience. The Weeknd said that sex scenes that sparked controversy should not be called sexy.

Abel Tesfaye alias The Weeknd emphasized that there was nothing sexy about the sex scenes he played with Lily-Rose Depp.

"There's nothing sexy about it. After all, how do you feel watching that scene, whether it's uncomfortable, or you feel disgusting, or you feel ashamed of the character," The Weeknd was quoted as saying by GQ, Wednesday, June 14.

"It's all a growing emotion: this guy is on top of his head, this situation is a situation where he shouldn't be here."

It was discovered during the screening of episode 2 of The Idol, The Weeknd, which played Tedros, verbally wooed pop star Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp). In that scene, Jocelyn stripped Tedros in his bed which was too vulgar that caused controversy.

However, Selena Gomez's former character was not affected by the controversy caused. Instead, he imagined that the sex scene was a form of crust from his character.

"Sex, it's very greedy. Especially in episode 2. 'Gradility' is the only word I can think of (to describe it)," said The Weeknd.

"(Tedros) doesn't believe he's there. He looks like a loser. Those days were humanity you find in a psychopath, a gap in his iron shirt," he continued.

Episode 2 of The Idol attracted around 800,000 viewers, down 12 percent from the first episode. Although broadcasts on the same day in the series declined, the delayed Episode 1 broadcast after a week surpassed Euphoria and The White Lotus.
