Airing June 22, Onde Mande Film Presents Daily Residents In Lake Maninjau

JAKARTA - The production house of Visinema in collaboration with Ceneng Film and Visionari Capital released the latest film with the drama family and comedy genre, Onde Mande.

Directed by Paul Fauzan Agusta, this film stars Shenina Cinnamon and Emir Mahira who are back together. In addition, there are also Jajang C Noer, Jose Rizal Manua, Ajil Ditto, Shahabi Sakri and Musra Dahrizal.

As a descendant of Minangkabau, Paul Fauzan Agusta said that the film he worked on this time was a offering for his late father. He told how the film with Minang nuances finally arrived.

"The reason for the cultivation of this film is very personal. Starting from 12 years ago, my father once asked when I made the film he could watch. So I intend to make a film about his birthplace in Maninjau," said Paul Fauzan Agusta during a press conference in Cipete, South Jakarta on Monday, May 15.

The 42-year-old director said that his film displays daily life around Lake Maninjau, West Sumatra. Not only that, Paul also tried to show as many Minang customs as possible.

With the setting of Lake Maninjau in most film scenes, Paul said that all actors who played, used Minang dialogue.

"Seventy percent of the dialogue is in Minang, the rest is Indonesian," said Paul.

The director admitted that he was not afraid to use Minang as a dialogue in films. He said Indonesian viewers were used to subtitles when watching Hollywood films and other countries, and he was sure that appreciation from the audience would not change even though the cast spoke in Minang.

Paul also said that the use of language, starting from dialects, pronunciations and dictions, has been adjusted as best as possible through research and consultation with parties deemed competent.

"We did the research as much as possible and taught the players as much as possible. We were greatly helped by local players there. Crew, who is half of them are ISI Padangpanjang students, is also very helpful," said Paul.

"If someone is dissatisfied with the player's dialect, I think it's natural. What is clear is that we ensure that the use of Minang from actors has been made as much as possible," he continued.

SINOPSISangku Wan (Musra Dahrizal), a retired teacher who lives alone in a beautiful fishing village on the shores of Lake Maninjau, West Sumatra, won a lottery prize from a soap company. He will use the prize worth billions of rupiah for a noble purpose, namely building a village for mutual welfare.

But before claiming the big prize, Anngku Wan died. After the death of Anngku Wan, a villager: Ni Ta (Jajang C Noer), Da Am (Jose Rizal Manua), Si Mar (Shenina Cinnamon) and the village leader made a big plan. They try to convince the soap company that Angku Wan is still alive in order to demand a reward and realize his last message.

The situation became increasingly complicated when Anwar (Emir Mahira) as a representative of the soap company came to the village suddenly to validate the winner. Will the villagers' plans be successful?

Visinema Pictures has also just released a poster and official teaser for the film Onde Mande. The film is planned to be shown simultaneously in theaters on June 22.
