JAKARTA - Not seen acting for a long time, Tika Brahani appears with her latest project. Khanzab's film became his latest work after five years of absence from film.

Actually, Tika is not completely vacuumed from acting. In the five-year vulnerable, he starred in several soap opera titles. But there are several reasons that led him to finally return to Khanzab.

"Why don't you try it? That's it," replied Tika Brahani when asked by VOI about Khanzab's film.

In the film Khanzab, Tika Brahani plays Nuning, the mother of Rahayu, played by Yasamin Jasem. This is Tika's first horror genre project as well as his reunion with director Anggy Umbara who once directed her in the 5-man Champion (2017) film.

"My role as Nuning, a stepmother from Rahayu whose life was straight until then finally there was a problem because Rahayu had her revenge that was still stored from the past," he said.

"Actually, I'm more of a victim. Usually, stepmothers are evil, so this is a stepmother who becomes a victim. There is harmony, rice will be in several scenes that are not common," he explained about his new role.

The production process that went so fast made Tika Brahani choose this film. Being a mother makes the woman born on February 17 focusing on her baby, Kalam Mahandika and not using household assistants.

"Because if my son was left behind during yesterday's filming, it was a bit messy in terms of emotion and physical needs, so I just took a little bit of it. There's a lot of break first," he said again.

In addition, Khanzab is one of the different projects that Tika Brahani has received in recent times. The reason is, he often gets the same or repeated character offers. Tika thinks he is looking for something that challenges him, including his coward nature.

"It's more about challenging myself, I'll just try it now, when will it be. Horror offers are rare to me, so when will it be, "he said.

"Actually, the first one was because I haven't returned to the film for a long time, then once there was an offer, yes, at that time Khanzab. Actually, there were several other films that were offered, but because maybe I had a headscarf," he said.

"All the characters are the same on average because this is synonymous with pious women, or for example most of the dramas or religious dramas are typically uniform," said Tika Brahani.

If the one who distinguishes Khanzab from horror films or from other offers is drama or comedy. In 2018 there were also those who offered the horror genre, only at that time they didn't want to, but as my friends said, Everything will be horror in time and the majority of Indonesian films are all horror," he continued.

Admitting he was a coward, he always avoided acting projects related to horror. After all, the situation is different from now on where he feels horror is the difference between the films he has played so far.

The wife of actor Dimas Aditya also experienced something new when filming Khanzab, namely when she had to adapt to the location and production that drained her feelings.

"Indeed, it was a bit tortured because it was a shophouse (shooting place) that was abandoned for years, so it was really a place of rest for us, it was really horror. The story is horror, so everyone is tired. Playing horror is really tired. Something we don't like but almost 24 hours with us is the situation, the location, and the extras is there are demons too," said Tika Brahani, remembering filming.

Horror shooting is always synonymous with filming hours that turn into nights until morning. This challenge also has an impact on Tika and her child's relationship which makes the atmosphere of the two change. Tika herself still doesn't use a household assistant during the shooting process.

"For my own child, there are more tantrums because the love tank is empty. His mother left in the morning, came home in the morning, and the most difficult thing was when I came home at two in the morning, then cleaned up the bath at dawn and just went to sleep, my son woke up at half past seven to invite him to play," said Tika again.

Actually, there is a slight lack of rest, it can only be passed. So don't take it often because it's horror behind the biological clock. When filming Khanzab and taking care of the child, it seems like I can't be combined, it's just that I made it through it, it means I can! " he said happily.

Luckily, Tika Brahani was met with Anggy Umbara and Yasamin Jasem. He had worked with them on two different titles so it was not difficult to adapt to his new role. According to Tika, Anggy is a relaxed director figure so that it helps him to shoot well.

"I chose the first one with Anggy (Umbara) because maybe no matter how difficult it is, but in that set it can be fun because I already know and already know. From his own Anggy, he is a director who knows what he wants and what the results are like, he fights for it with a lot of angles," explained the 2014 Citra Cup actor.

"It's pretty cold, calm, and it supports us who have a messy mood because in that set bronx really continues to rest in poor quality because since morning I met in the morning. It's quite fun working with Pak Anggy even though that's angle shot, it keeps getting more and more troublesome because he wants a lot," he said.

So with Yasamin Jasem, Tika Brahani feels she can exchange opinions with the young actress. Filming his first horror film went smoothly thanks to the collaboration between the two TOP soap opera actors.

"It's been a few times that I've met and it's not difficult to tune in because Yayas is open, I'm also open so I feel a sense of frequency. If I've been with my co-stars, it's easy to become an opponent and play. For example, in our relationship set, what do you want to do, how can you make an appointment? So it's a good agreement. So, Yayas is cooperative and I'm grateful that his co-star is Yayas," explained Tika.

Tika Brahani feels that the Indonesian film industry is not yet completely diverse, especially in developing the role or story for the perpetrators. The limited role offered in terms of the story makes itself more selective in choosing roles. Not to mention if the projects he received also reaped comments from the public.

"Actually, there are many because our industry, if for example it is often a good mother, its role is to continue to be a good mother. The antagonist continues. The industry has never dared to take risks to give a very different role than before. Even though it's actually interesting, "the talk of the woman who was born in Bali.

"There are a lot of things that haven't been conveyed yet, when I wear this hijab, I think there are movies that are usually polygamous, about love, about mother and child, their children are sick, basically those who suffer fromttering like that," he said.

"I really want, for example, I wear a headscarf but there is action too. I wear a headscarf but I'm not good either. For example, the headscarf is different, it's common in us people, but if it's depicted in theaters it's a sensitive thing," he said.

Tika remembers when she starred in the film directed by Hanung Bramantyo, Hijab in 2015. He explained that the characters he played in the film were very varied and became differentiators. However, he admitted that the film was not accepted in the community.

"Those are interesting characters, the characters are not the pious, calm and brought up with Hanung's style, I think it's really fun but not accepted in society. How come this is like discrediting the headscarf itself even though people have not been able to accept criticism wrapped in films with entertainment. So it becomes a very sensitive thing. That's what I haven't done yet, "said Tika again.

The 33-year-old actress is not fully focused on acting. She feels satisfied with her acting journey for more than 10 years. Tika feels the right horror momentum to make her choose Khanzab but she doesn't deny that in the future she will choose horror films again.

"It seems impossible to be full because there are other responsibilities now. I don't want to say I have children, but yes, the situation is like this, it's time for this so if there is and the time allows me to match, like it, take it, if not, you don't have to," he replied straightforwardly.

"The hectic times have passed, meaning that I've felt filming, shooting, shooting, just shooting, I'm satisfied, I think so. So now I'm not chasing there, only if there's an interesting story, why not," said Tika Brahani.

Without a burden, Tika Brahani hopes that her latest film can be enjoyed by the audience, as well as her career and what she is currently living.

"If my career is not grandiose, but hopefully, what blessings I will do because it is much more important because I don't know what is being chased because of nothing to lose. I want to do what I love, acting itself. I have always been happy acting, I hope this career will be a bridge for what I like," said Tika Brahani ending the conversation that afternoon.
