Demi Lovato Debuts Director Through Child Star

JAKARTA - Demi Lovato stepped into the world of directing through documentaries. Child Stars is confirmed to be the main title of her debut film that tells the life of a child artist in developing in the Hollywood industry.

Launching Deadline, this film features several former child artists including Demi Lovato herself and how they become popular, controlled by wealth, and affect their future.

Lovato did not reveal who the actor will join this documentary. But he made sure all the stories would be shared through intimate conversations, real footage, and supporting documents.

"There is no film or other interesting topic for my directorial debut compared to this story, which is very close to me," Demi Lovato said today, Friday, March 17.

Demi Lovato was assisted by Nicola Marsh in her directorship. Meanwhile, the film was produced by Michael D. Ratner and the company produced by Lovato, DLG and Scooter Braun, namely SB Projects.

Child Star is not Demi Lovato's first collaboration with SB Projects. Previously, she released the documentary series Dancing with the Devil which premiered on SXSW 2021. Ratner also directed the music video Dancing with the Devil.
