Doyoung, Jaehyun And Jungwoo Join NCT's New Unit

JAKARTA - NCT will form a new unit after several years. This news stems from several South Korean media who reported that this unit will consist of Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo.

Today, Thursday, March 9, SM Entertainment confirmed the news. Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo are preparing their first unit debut album. Please look forward to it," SM said in a statement today.

Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo first appeared as trios at the MBC Music Festival and NCT 127 concerts. At that time they performed the song Can We Go Back.

The three of them went through a training period through the SM Entertainment program called SM Rookies. They performed singing and were active in promotional events created by the agency.

Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo joined NCT at different times. If Doyoung and Jaehyun make their first appearance through NCT U in 2016, Jungwoo has just made his debut with NCT 127 through the Regular-Irregular album (2018).

Jungwoo is also the last member to join NCT 127 so there are no additional members to date.

NCT is a K-pop group with an unlimited concept of adding members. So far, they have debuted 23 people with four sub-units. The 23 people are Taeil, Taeyong, Doyoung, Ten, Jaehyun, Mark, Yuta, Winwin, Haechan, Renjun, Jeno, Jaemin, Chenle, Jisung, Johnny, Jungwoo, Lucas, Kun, Xiaojun, Hendery, Yangyang, Shotaro, and Sungchan.

Then these 23 members were divided into several sub-units, namely NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, and WayV.

Recently, SM Entertainment is rumored to be ending the process of NCT member extensions this year. In the future they will debut a new K-pop group outside the name NCT.

The plan is that the new NCT unit trio will be released in the first half of 2023.
