JAKARTA - The Central Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) responded to protests filed by Deddy Corbuzier through his YouTube channel on Tuesday, January 17 yesterday.

In the 13-minute 47-second video, Deddy strongly protested the absence of KPI when Fajar Sadboy appeared on many television programs and spoke about his love story.

"The problem is, he (Fajar Sadboy) was on TV, where is KPI? Where is KPI? Where is KPI? He said you protect children's rights. I once was in Black and White, invited a small child, was hit by the KPI (medication), hit me", Deddy protested in the video.

"The question is, when Fajar Sadboy and his ex, minors entered tv, where is the KPI? In fact, if we refer to Article 29 of the KPI Regulation on Broadcasting Code of Conduct, it is stated that broadcasters are not allowed to interview children under 18 years of age beyond their capacity, and must consider their safety and future," continued Deddy Corbuzier.

Two days later from the appearance of the video, KPI through its official Instagram account, @kpicenter responded to protests from the man who was awarded the rank of Lieutenant Colonel Tituler.

"Based on the Broadcast Program Standards (SPS) consisting of children and adolescents, children should not be presented as resource persons beyond their capacity in the context of disasters / disasters, household conflicts, and traumatic violent conflicts," reads the official statement of KPI which was shown in the video uploaded on Instagram, Thursday, January 19.

KPI based its argument on SPS Article 33 which states that classification A is between the ages of children between 7-12 years old and in classification R the age range is 13-17 years in the youth category.

For events aimed at teenagers with classification R, KPI considers that there is no prohibition on displaying romance, as long as it does not violate norms and decency. This is prohibited if shown on shows with classification A.

At the end of the video, KPI wrote its appeal. Although regulation does not prohibit it, the Broadcasting Institute should present an inspiring and exemplary child-friendly event, the appeal reads in response to Deddy Corbuzier's protest.
