Playing Film Makes Abidzar Al Ghifari Add Sayang Umi Pipik

JAKARTA - Young actor Abidzar Al Ghifari said he was proud to be involved in the latest film produced by IDN Pictures, Ballad Si Roy. Moreover, for the first time the 21-year-old actor has received the main role in the big screen film.

Abidzar, who plays Roy, thanked the other actors. With minimal experience, he felt helped by the presence of the cast of Balada Si Roy.

"I can't stop thanking my friends here. Because this is my first film, thank you all. Because I managed to light up Roy," said Abidzar Al Ghifari during a press conference in the Setiabudi area, South Jakarta on Tuesday, January 10.

The second child of the late Ustaz Jefri Al Buchori and Pipik Dian Irawati also learned many lessons from the characters he played. Roy's character itself has similarities with Abidzar, both of them live with a mother and have lost the figure of the father who died when they were children.

Roy's character gave me many lessons. One of them must love mother. I thank Mas Gong for creating Roy's character," said Abidzar.

In the film Ballada Si Roy, Abidzar competed acting with Lulu Tobing who became his mother, as well as several young actors who became Roy's friends at school, including Febby Rastanty, Bio One, Zulfa Maharani, Sitha Marino, Jourdy Pranata, Omara Esteghlal, Yusuf Mahardika and other actors.

Directed by Fajar Nugros, Ballad Si Roy is the transfer of rides from the famous novel in the 1980s by Gol A Gong with the same title.

This film presents the story and adventures of a young man named Roy who includes various aspects of a complex life, ranging from the search for identity, friendship, and love.

Deeper than just a teenage love story, Balada Si Roy comes with a strong conflict, both personal conflict, family, and conflict set in social conditions in that era. Balada Si Roy will premiere in cinemas throughout Indonesia on January 19.
