JAKARTA - The Film Censorship Institute (LSF) expands cooperation through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a number of parties such as SOEs, universities, professional organizations, to local governments related to the literacy of the Independent Censorship National Movement, in Jakarta.
According to LSF Chairman Rommy Fibri Hardiyanto, active participation from many parties is very influential in the success of the program that was launched at the end of 2021.
"This collaboration has been running from 2021 and until now the LSF has held an MoU with 20 state universities, 21 private universities, and four related agencies/institutions," Rommy said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 20.
The members who took part in the signing of this MoU were the Indonesian Film Agency (BFI), the State Film Company (PFN), the Bangka Belitung Provincial Government, Ibk Khaldun Bogor University, Prof. Muhammadiyah University Prof. DR. Hamka, Gorontalo State University, Sam Ratulangi Manado University and the Indonesian Communications Bachelor Association (ISKI).
Rommy hopes that this collaboration and collaboration is expected to improve the quality and quantity of film, censorship and socialization of independent censorship culture.
LSF also cooperates with universities in order to build collaboration because actions and socialization of independent censorship culture can be synergized with the activities of universities' tri dharma, in order to support the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka Movement.
Together with Prof. DR. Hamka University, LSF launched a publication entitled "The Perception of Jabodetabek Students About the Censorship Criteria for Independent Media and Culture Content" which is expected to be one of the solutions to protect children's mental development and character in the midst of onslaught of spectacle through digital media.
The research was conducted by setting targets consisting of elementary, junior high, high school, and vocational students in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi areas. The research samples were taken by 560 elementary, junior high, high school, and vocational students representing 14 Jabodetabek administrative areas.
This research is an evaluative survey whose aim is to find out the effectiveness of the program that has been carried out.
The results of this study show that Independent Sensor Culture will be more useful if it is character education-based by paying attention to the concept of Lickona in character education content, which includes "knowing the good", "feeling the good", and "doing the good".
"Public knowledge and awareness are important in building public understanding of the classification of age, images, scenes, dialogue, voice, messages and wisdom obtained from a film," said Rommy.
