Open Up About Cases Of Violence In Filming, Andi Bachtiar Yusuf: I Don't Push, I Don't Push

JAKARTA - The name Andi Bachtiar Yusuf has been rolling on the internet since last night. He is suspected of being the director of verbal violence at a filming location for the series which is in the production stage.

Today, Friday, September 2, the director wrote a public statement. Through his social media, he felt he could not talk much about this case.

"I realized that in the last 24-30 hours, my name has been regularly mentioned on various social media platforms," said Andi Bachtiar Yusuf through his Instagram account.

"Some friends asked privately through the channels they had to access me, this morning media friends started contacting me one by one," he continued.

He admitted that he was silent not because he didn't want to explain anything. However, the director of Love for Sale needs to reflect on everything that happened before he spoke.

"I'm just taking a position, looking at the situation on the ground, reflecting on every corner, as well as seeing the movement of friends," continued Andi.

"Until tonight I think it's time for me to start responding... of course with my way, the way Andibachtiar Yusuf is," he concluded.

In the photo caption section, he called this statement a love letter to friends.

In essence, Yusuf explained the chronology of the shooting location which was not conducive due to the absence of a production leader. When making a scene with many supporting talent, Yusuf felt annoyed and angry because of the lack of players.

"I was annoyed and forced the talent coordinator (Sepulang saja 'kru') to complete the number, I pushed to stay away because I was very upset. As a person who believes that violence should only occur in action films, I really believe that it is DORONGAN that I did, not TAMPAN," he wrote.

Yusuf explained that he had apologized at the time of the incident. Even when the victim's parents came to the shooting location, he said they did not want to commit violence because they both had girls.

This case began when a crew member recounted the verbal violence case experienced by another crew member. Although not mentioning names, the production house stated that it had cut ties with the perpetrators.

Then the name Andi Bachtiar Yusuf began to circulate after the Indonesian Film Directors Club (IFDC) released a statement to also issue the director.

To VOI, Andi Bachtiar only explained that he did not understand the situation being discussed by people.

"I also want to know a lot about this issue. It's better to just ask for clarification first to spread the issue. Maybe even more understanding," he said.
