JAKARTA - The film Mumun is ready to invite audiences to reminisce in theaters on September 1. The film produced by Dee Company which is an adaptation of the hit soap opera of the 2000s entitled Jadi Pocong by Mandra.

"This film will be shown on September 1, which coincides with Mumun's birthday, hopefully this film can be received. On the first day we will be showing 300 screens," said film producer Mumun Dheeraj Kalwani as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, August 26.

Dheeraj ensures that the characteristics of Pocong Mumun with his green eyes and the opening song in the soap opera version will not be lost in the film version so that it can bring the audience together to reminisce. In addition, new viewers will also be able to follow the story even though they have never watched the soap opera version.

Meanwhile, director Rizal Mantovani said that when he learned that the film Mumun was an adaptation of a soap opera that was hit at the time, he admitted that he was a bit depressed.

"It makes me so depressed because how do I have to make something good and at least nostalgic. Lucky to have a good story, good cast, good performance, finally the obstacles that exist to adapt this film don't feel as heavy as they should be ," said Rizal.

He also said that he had prepared surprise scenes to make Pocong Mumun's terror feel more gripping.

"Of course, the treatment of soap operas and the big screen is different. Without reducing the typical Pocong Mumun character with his green eyes, I make the terror scenes feel more gripping," he said.

Eddies Adelia, the actress who played Mumun in the hit soap opera "So Pocong" in the 2000s, praised Acha Septriasa's acting when she played Mumun in the film version of the soap opera, Mumun.

"Acha is already good, so the acting is already cool. It's not wrong the producers and directors chose Acha to play the legendary Mumun character. He is a very strong character, very beautiful, extraordinary kind, and we all know that Acha's film box office," said Eddies.

Eddies said he and Acha had only met on the set shortly before filming Mumun. So, they didn't have much time to discuss Mumun's character.

However, Eddies assessed that Acha was able to play Mumun's character well. In fact, thanks to Acha, Eddies admitted that he was nostalgic for the time when he was shooting the soap opera Jadi Pocong 20 years ago.

"Acha's appreciation is really cool. When I talk like that, it's true that I remember when I was filming 20 years ago, but the character is stronger than Mumun today because the story is a little different. Anyway, Acha's acting is really cool," said Eddies.

Eddies himself appeared in the film "Mumun" as one of the villagers. Although he doesn't appear in many scenes, Eddies' presence in the film can be an element that brings nostalgia.

"I'm here as a cameo, so I really don't have much to tell. Indeed, Rizal also said 'Eddies you have to play even one or two scenes because you are a legend here', so yes I was involved in shooting one day at that time and Thank God I'm happy," said Eddies.

"It is an honor because Mumun is still considered old school to appear as a guest star here and I am very happy to be involved in Mumun millennial in 2022," he added.
