JAKARTA - Producer Jason Blum feels the Paranormal Activity film franchise should be stopped. While attending the Locarno Film Festival, Blum expressed his opinion on the film.

"It's enough. The last Paranormal Activity film alone was terrible," Jason Blum quoted Variety as saying.

“With 'Halloween' we have the rights to three films so the franchise with Blumhouse is over. You think it's time to end the story. Yes, it feels good if the film is done by a director I love," he explained.

But for now, Jason Blum hopes there will be no development of the Paranormal Activity franchise.

"Like Scott Derrickson said, I had a great idea for a Paranormal Activity movie but it's not something I want to do right now," he said.

The first Paranormal Activity film which was released in 2007 received a positive response. With a modest budget, they reap many times in theaters.

As a result they continued the story with sequels in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2015.

"It feels like we're asking a lot of questions and I'm tired of that. Audiences are also tired of asking questions, so this franchise should be over," said Jason Blum.

“Horror franchises mostly end when the last film isn't a success. It was sad and left a bad impression on the whole film. I really don't want to do this," he said.

Most recently, the Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin reboot was released on Paramount+. The plan is that the eighth film, entitled The Other Side, will be released.
