JAKARTA - Muhadkly Acho is back on the director's bench for the film Ghost Writer 2. This film is his second work after debuting with the film Gara-Gara Heritage.

Ghost Writer 2 tells the story of Naya (Tatjana Saphira), a book writer who feels annoyed because she is considered a shaman rather than a writer. This relates to his first book written with ghosts.

He tried to escape the nickname by trying new things. But he experiences a series of events that make him reconnect with ghosts.

“In my opinion, in this second film, the work team is better. There are thrillers, there are dramas, they make you tense, you are afraid but the results make me laugh,” said Tatjana Saphira at a press conference on Tuesday, July 12.

Ghost Writer 2's story develops from the first part which certainly makes Muhadkly Acho with Chand Parwez Ernest Prakasa, Bene Dion Radjagukguk, and Nonny Boenawan burdened.

“We want to keep the audience entertained but there is something new. It is very appropriate to need this extraordinary thing that is different. Those elements are all in Ghost Writer 2," said Chand Parwez.

“One of the biggest elements is the drama played by Widyawati and we know she has a great capacity in drama. In Ghost Writer 1 there is something we don't leave behind, namely the family element," added Acho.

The figure of Naya in Ghost Writer 2 is still the central character in this film. This time, Naya feels the loss of her closest person, Vino (Deva Mahenra).

"There are many second (challenges) in my opinion, Naya experiences more conflicts. She lost Vino, so there is grief there," said Tatjana Saphira.

Nonny Boenawan as the scriptwriter also developed Naya's story which became the starting point for the Ghost Writer 2 plot.

“In Ghost Writer 2, Naya begins to recognize death in a closer environment. I wanted to dig something but I wrapped it a lot so it wouldn't be too heavy,” said Nonny Boenawan.

"Hopefully, people who watch are not only entertained by the comedy, but there is an after-taste of horror films that leave an impression," explained Acho again.

Apart from Tatjana Saphira, Ghost Writer 2 also stars Deva Mahenra, Widyawati Sophiaan, Endy Arfian, Moh Iqbal Sulaiman, Annisa Hertami, Ernest Prakasa, Asri Welas, Arie Kriting, Arief Didu, and many others.

Ghost Writer 2 with all its genre elements can be seen in Indonesian cinemas starting July 21, 2022.
