First Of The Eid Al-Adha With Children, Gilang Dirga Trys To Be A Good Father

JAKARTA - Artist and host Gilang Dirga admits that this year's Eid celebration feels different for his wife, Adiezty Fersa, because of the presence of a tiny baby they named Gin Dirga.

"I've become a father, so I've tried a little bit to be a good father, especially from religion," he said when met by ANTARA at the Gala Premier for the First Travel film at Epicentrum XXI Kuningan, Jakarta, Thursday, July 7.

He also learns about the law of sacrifice for children and will teach the meaning of sacrifice if the child is big later because he feels it must be taught.

"I also read that age like this can be sacrificed or not, if it's a sacrifice, what should I do, so I study again," he said.

The man who was born on August 17 also said that last year's Eid al-Adha celebrated only at home because it was blocked by the pandemic, so he was worried about traveling.

"Nowadays, because it has started to decline a bit, maybe later we can go to the cinema or where," he said.

When remembering the childhood moment of Eid al-Adha, Gilang admitted that he had been caught smoking by his father and that moment made an impression on him.

"During elementary school, I was caught by my father in 4th grade elementary school. That's what I can never forget when I was asked about the Eid moment," said the host who was also proficient in imitating the vocalist of the Indonesian band.

The man who has also played in the film "Surau and Silek" said there is no special tradition other than spending Eid al-Adha moments gathering with his family after the prayer.

"God willing, we will sacrifice this year. The period of traveling can not be sacrificed," he concluded smiling.
